Working Towards a Better Tomorrow

Across the Globe, We Are United in Our Dedication to Children’s Rights

Who We Are

Our Story

Afframsikpa Children Foundation was established with a simple but powerful belief: every child deserves the opportunity to thrive. What began as one educator’s commitment to supporting vulnerable children has grown into a community-driven organisation working to improve access to education, strengthen child protection, promote health and well-being, and empower families across Ghana. Together with our partners, volunteers, and supporters, we are building stronger communities where children can realise their full potential.

Our Approach

About Us

Afframsikpa Children Foundation is a Ghanaian non-profit organization founded in 2012 by Christian M. Affram, a professional teacher, with the support of Michael Agrobesah and Samuel W. Affram. Since its establishment, the Foundation has been committed to advancing the rights, well-being, and future of children and young people through sustainable, community-led development.

We work alongside communities to ensure that every child has access to quality education, healthcare, protection, and opportunities to reach their full potential. Our programmes strengthen families and communities through education, child protection, nutrition, health, youth development, and sustainable livelihoods. We believe that lasting change begins within communities, and we collaborate closely with local leaders, schools, families, and volunteers to develop solutions that are inclusive, sustainable, and locally driven.

Partnership is central to our mission. We are proud to collaborate with Nesola – Nicht Allein e.V. in Germany and Volta Hope in Ghana and the United States.

Together, we combine local knowledge with international support to expand educational opportunities, strengthen child well-being, and build resilient communities where children can thrive.

At Afframsikpa Children Foundation, we are guided by the belief that every child has the right to survive, learn, be protected, and thrive. Through collaboration, innovation, and community engagement, we are helping create a future where every child can realise their full potential and contribute to a stronger, more equitable society.

Founder & Chief Coordinator

My passion for teaching began long before I became a professional teacher. Growing up, I witnessed how education could transform a child’s future—and how the lack of it could limit a child’s opportunities. Those experiences inspired me to dedicate my life to making a difference in the lives of children.

I am a trained professional teacher from Ghana with nearly 10 years of experience working with the Ghana Education Service. Throughout my career, I have taught and mentored children between the ages of 5 and 18, giving me a deep understanding of their educational, emotional, and developmental needs. I believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and reach their full potential.

Over the years, I have had the privilege of partnering with Nesola Nicht Allein e.V. (Germany), Volta Hope Children’s Home, and other organizations that share the same vision of improving the lives of children through education, care, and international cooperation. These partnerships have strengthened my belief that meaningful and lasting change is possible when people work together with compassion and a shared purpose.

In 2019, I founded the Afframsikpa Children Foundation (ACF) because I wanted to do more than teach inside a classroom. I wanted to create opportunities for children, connect international volunteers—including teachers, healthcare professionals, and social workers—with local communities, and help build a future where every child feels valued, supported, and inspired.

For me, ACF is more than an organization—it is my life’s mission. I believe that by investing in children today, we are building stronger communities and creating a brighter future for generations to come.

Laura Vis

International Coordinator

My name is Laura, and I am the International Coordinator of the Afframsikpa Children Foundation.

When I was 18 years old, I traveled to Ghana for the first time for an internship. At that time, I knew very little about the country, but I had always dreamed of going to Africa and making a positive impact. From the moment I arrived, I felt something I had never experienced before. The warmth of the people, the vibrant culture, and the sense of community made Ghana feel like a second home.

My time there changed my life. I grew in confidence, learned to be independent, and discovered strengths I never knew I had. But the greatest lesson came from the people I met. The children and communities I worked with inspired me every day. They taught me that happiness can be found in the smallest moments and that every achievement, no matter how small, is worth celebrating.

Today, I am passionate about giving others the opportunity to experience that same journey. Through the Afframsikpa Children Foundation, I hope to help students and volunteers discover not only the beauty of Ghana but also the personal growth, friendships, and unforgettable memories that can come from serving others. My hope is that every volunteer leaves Ghana with a full heart, a new perspective, and an experience that stays with them for a lifetime.
